Bloomin’ Hearts Valentine
Each year as I do more and more paper crafting I wish that I had my daughter’s childhood days back so that I could have fun making cool Valentine treats and cards for her friends but she is grown and living on her own so I never bother making Valentine cards but when I started seeing other people posting cards they made using the new Stampin Up! Bloomin’ Hearts die I just had to get the Bloomin’ Hearts bundle. The cards people were making were so simple yet so strikingly beautiful.
I love sparkle (have I mentioned that my nickname is Sparklegirl?) so my first instinct once I received the set was to see how the die would cut glitter paper. I found a deep ruby red piece of glitter paper from DCWV and gave it a try. It cut quite well. I did use a metal shim and I passed it through a few times to be sure it cut completely but it came out so nice that I had to use it on this card.
To complete my card I layered the die cut on top of a 4” x 5.25” white piece of cardstock that was dry embossed using the Anna Griffin “Love” embossing folder; then I foam taped that onto a whisper white card base. For the sentiment I used the “ribbon banner” and the “love you” stamp from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set in the Bloomin' hearts bundle. I stamped them onto Vellum using Versamark and then heat embossed it with Ranger Super Fine Gold powder.
